Holosun ARO-EVO-GD-2 is the new-generation ARO-EVO version equipped with a 2 MOA gold dot reticle. It combines a large 26 mm viewing window, Solar Failsafe, automatic and manual brightness control, Shake Awake, a side-loading CR2032 battery compartment and two included mounts. This configuration uses a fixed single 2 MOA Gold Dot.

2 MOA Gold Dot – the defining feature

Gold dot reticle with a 590 nm wavelength

The Gold Dot is the defining feature of this specific version. Holosun uses a gold LED emitter with a wavelength of 590 nm.

The manufacturer describes the gold dot as a high-contrast solution intended to provide excellent visibility in bright conditions and against visually complex backgrounds.

The 2 MOA size provides a practical balance between fast dot acquisition and precise coverage of the observed area.

Larger 26 mm viewing window

A wider visible sight picture.

The ARO-EVO uses a viewing window with a diameter of 1.02", approximately 26 mm. The larger window expands the visible sight picture and makes the illuminated dot easier to locate.

This is one of the main design improvements of the ARO-EVO compared with the more compact generations of the ARO platform.

Solar Failsafe and automatic brightness control

Solar Failsafe

The solar panel provides backup power when sufficient ambient light is available and helps keep the sight ready for use.

Automatic brightness

The built-in light sensor can automatically adjust dot brightness according to the current lighting conditions.

A manual mode is also available when you prefer to control the intensity yourself.

Shake Awake and up to 50,000 hours of operation

Ready when moved and energy-efficient while at rest.

Shake Awake monitors movement and activates the reticle when motion is detected. After prolonged inactivity, the illumination switches off automatically to reduce unnecessary battery consumption.

The ARO-EVO-GD-2 uses a standard CR2032 battery, while Holosun specifies a battery life of up to 50,000 hours at setting 6.

Replacement without removing the sight

The battery is housed in a side-loading compartment. This allows the CR2032 to be replaced without removing the sight from its mount.
